Hengeler Mueller advises Tele Columbus on agreement with VG Media in the dispute over copyright licensing conditions for cable retransmission

The cable network provider Tele Columbus and the collecting society VG Media have settled their dispute over the conditions of copyright licensing for cable retransmission by mutual agreement. The agreement follows two court proceedings, most recently pending before the Berlin District Court and the Berlin Court of Appeals, as well as arbitration proceedings pursuant to the collecting societies law (‘Verwertungsgesellschaftengesetz’) before the arbitration board of the German patent and trademark office (DPMA) in Munich. The out-of-court settlement addresses, among others, the termination of these proceedings.

Hengeler Mueller represented Tele Columbus in the various proceedings and advised on the settlement. The team was led by partner Wolfgang Spoerr and included associates Tobias Schubert and Cornelia Gersch (all TMT, Berlin).
