Hengeler Mueller advises Peek & Cloppenburg group (Düsseldorf/Vienna) on the acquisition of Magasin du Nord

Peek & Cloppenburg group, headquartered in Düsseldorf and Vienna, acquires the Danish department store chain Magasin du Nord from British department store chain Debenhams. Founded in 1868, Magasin du Nord operates stores at seven locations in Denmark as well as an online store. With the acquisition of the Danish retailer, Peek & Cloppenburg strengthens its position as one of Europe's leading multi-brand omnichannel fashion retailers.

Hengeler Mueller advised Peek & Cloppenburg group on the transaction. The team included partners Christian Möller and Georg Seyfarth as well as associates Jil Kalender and Alexander von Bernstorff (all Corporate/M&A, Düsseldorf).

On Danish law aspects Hengeler Mueller worked together with law firm Horten.
