Hengeler Mueller advises Viessmann Group on Joint Venture with BMW

The BMW Group and Viessmann Group set up a joint venture which will offer energy optimisation services under the name of “Digital Energy Solutions”. Both companies will team up with their competencies and technologies to optimize their customers’ energy systems in terms of sustainability, costs and reliable supply of power. Digital Energy Solutions GmbH & Co. KG will help its clients in identifying, create and market energy flexibility based on an overreaching approach involving e-mobility, heating/cooling and electricity. BMW and Viessmann will each have a 50% stake in the new joint venture company and appoint one managing director.

The Viessmann Group is one of the leading international manufacturers of heating, industrial and refrigeration systems. Founded in 1917, the family business maintains a staff of approximately 11,500 employees and generates EUR 2.2 bn in annual group turnover. 56% of sales are generated abroad.
