Hengeler Mueller advises GEG on acquisition of “Pressehaus” building on Berlin’s Alexanderplatz

GEG German Estate Group AG has acquired two properties on Berlin's landmark “Alexanderplatz” square from Tishman Speyer. The historical high-rise “Pressehaus” building and the flat-roofed “Pressecafé” building, both redesigned and completely revitalized, are comprising a total rental space of more than 25,000 sqm. In 2021 they will be complemented by the new building “New Podium” with 10,300 sqm spread across 6 upper floors. The total investment of the transaction amounts to approximately EUR 365 million.
