Hengeler Mueller advises Deutsche Telekom on the expansion of truck toll system to all federal roads

On 29 June 2016 the Federal Republic of Germany announced the contract award to Toll Collect GmbH for the expansion of the truck toll system to federal roads. Toll Collect is a joint venture of Deutsche Telekom, Daimler and Cofiroute. Toll Collect, which operates already the truck toll system on motorways and important federal roads, shall enable to expand the toll to all 40,000 kilometres of federal roads. The contract value is indicated as EUR 540 m by the Federal Government which according to media reports expects additional revenues of EUR 2 bn per year through the expansion. In February 2016, the Federal procurement chamber dismissed an application for review of the public procurement procedure as unfounded.
