Danfoss A/S and Semikron International Dr. Fritz Martin GmbH & Co. KG have entered into a business combination agreement of their respective subsidiaries, Danfoss Silicon Power GmbH and SEMIKRON INTERNATIONAL GmbH, under a newly formed holding company. Danfoss will hold the majority in the holding company.
The joint venture will be globally active in the area of power electronics focusing on semiconductor modules. With an existing workforce of more than 3,500 power electronics specialists, the joint venture will become a leading provider in its sector. Closing of the transaction is subject to customary conditions, including merger control clearance.
