The Berlin Regional Court confirmed the testamentary capacity of businessman Peter Dussmann in its decision on February 1, 2023. His widow, Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann, fought for more than eight years for a legally binding recognition of his last will.
The court has decided that Peter Dussmann was capable to write his will in full responsibility on May 25, 2010, and thus to settle his estate in accordance with his wishes.
Together with Bernard C. Huger and Lucie F. Huger from US law firm Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, Hengeler Mueller has advised Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann on all aspects of this case. The Hengeler Mueller team comprised partners Kai-Steffen Scholz (Corporate/Succession Planning) and Henning Bälz (Dispute Resolution) as well as counsel Marvin Vesper-Gräske (Corporate/Succession Planning, all Berlin).
