European Legislation on Protection of Human Rights and the Environment in Chains of Activities adopted by European Parliament

On 24 April 2024, the European Parliament approved the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). The Council is scheduled to adopt the Directive at the end of May 2024. The CSDDD introduces human rights and environmental due diligence obligations on the EU level. Companies based in Europe or conducting significant business there may need to considerably adjust their policies and procedures to comply with the CSDDD going forward.
