Hengeler Mueller advises Tencent on investment in Clark

Tencent Holdings Ltd., a leading Chinese technology company, together with other co-investors has invested in Frankfurt-based insurtech startup Clark. As part of the Series C funding round the company raised a total of 69 million euros.

Hengeler Mueller advised Tencent on the transaction. The team was led by partner Jens Wenzel (Venture Capital/M&A, Berlin) and included partners Markus Ernst (Tax, Munich), Hendrik Bockenheimer (Employment, Frankfurt), Jan Bonhage (Public Law, Berlin) and Carl-Philipp Eberlein (Regulatory, Düsseldorf), counsel Matthias Berberich (IP/IT, Berlin) as well as associates Ingo Berner, Alexander Orlowski (both Venture Capital/M&A), Erasmus Hoffmann (Public Law) (all Berlin), Marius Mayer (Employment, Frankfurt), Marvin Geisler (Regulatory, Düsseldorf), Jan Krusche and Helene Gounalakis (both IP/IT, Berlin).
