Hengeler Mueller advises Provinzial on cooperation with Versicherungskammer as investor of Amprion

The Versicherungskammer and Provinzial groups intensify their cooperation in the area of capital investment: Provinzial acquires 35 percent of the shares in the holding company of Versicherungskammer and becomes an indirect shareholder of Amprion GmbH, Dortmund.

Just last year, Versicherungskammer acquired a stake in M 31 Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. Energie KG and thus an indirect stake of 2.1 percent in Amprion. Amprion is one of the leading operators of electricity transmission lines in Germany and plays a key role in the energy transition. The company is of fundamental importance not only in the substantial expansion of the grid infrastructure on land, but also in the connection of wind farms in the North Sea.

This partnership enables the two largest public insurers to invest effectively in transformation projects and increasingly in sustainable energy solutions.

Hengeler Mueller advised Provinzial comprehensively on the acquisition of the shares in the holding company of Versicherungskammer.
