Hengeler Mueller further strengthens Munich tax practice with new counsel

Markus Ernst will join Hengeler Mueller's tax practice in Munich as counsel starting in autumn 2017. Markus Ernst, who is admitted both as a lawyer and a certified tax advisor, has about ten years' professional experience in advising on the tax aspects of M&A, group reorganisations and financing transactions, matters of tax compliance and related internal investigations as well as tax disputes and litigation, most recently as counsel with Allen & Overy. He graduated from New York University with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree and received a doctorate with a thesis on tax law at Cologne University. Together with Markus Ernst and partner Matthias Scheifele, who will relocate to Munich from the Frankfurt office in autumn 2017, as well as Gunther Wagner, who will start as counsel in the third quarter of 2017 already having been associate in the tax practice of the law firm from 2009 until 2015, Hengeler Mueller will further strengthen the tax practice at the Munich office.
